NeuroMind 1.7 update & bug fix

I just uploaded NeuroMind version 1.7 for iPhone to the App Store. Besides 10 new scores (now 71 in total) it contains a bug fix many of you will have experienced. If you upgrade an existing installation of NeuroMind on iOS, the database does not get updated. However, if you do a new install, you won’t experience any difficulties. This is related to the way iOS handles databases internally.

During testing I only experienced this on the simulator, as I have to reinstall the app on my device if I perform so-called “ad hoc” testing. I thought it was a strange bug in the simulator… well, apparently not.

If you upgraded to NeuroMind 1.6 the Scores list should look like this:

If it only displays the two “Coma Scales” but not the RASS and Ramsey scale, the app still uses the old database. Don’t worry, it won’t do any harm. You just don’t have all the new scores at the moment.

Immediate solution: delete the app and reinstall again from the App Store. This will delete the old NeuroMind database and replace it by the proper one.

Easy solution: just wait until NeuroMind 1.7 is available in the App Store. It contains 10 new scores so you’ll want to download it anyway ;-)  For iPhone this should take approximately 1 week, for iPad it will take 1-2 weeks (still working on that one).

Android users won’t have experienced any troubles as the technological approach I use for that platform is slightly different. The new scores will be added during the next few weeks.
