Playing with iPhone SDK

After the previous experiments with Flex 3 and ActionScript 3.0 I also wanted to take a closer look at development for mobile devices. Why not target the most fascinating of them, which is the one I am using for the last year: the iPhone!

After reading the basic stuff on Objective C 2.0 in the book of Stephen Kochan, I am now doing the exercises from the book of Dave Mark & Jeff LaMarche. Fortunately, they also have a forum on their own website, which already helped me out! Thanks, Dave and Jeff! Here is a screenshot of my results of the exercises in chapter 4. I did not include source code, because this is not really “my” code.

The blog will be a little quiet for this month, as I will return to the next clinical part of my residency one month earlier, in just a few weeks (April 2009). I need to finish some things for my current research projects, which takes up some time. Together with exploring iPhone development, my days are rather packed at the moment.

But I do want (and will!) get this iPhone thing to work before I take up my white coat again. Too many opportunities to improve the quality of my work in improving this device.. don’t want to miss them!
