Nudge & apps

I discovered Nudge today, a Dutch initiative on sustainability. Very good! The name means both “to nudge” and “New Union for the Development of a Green Economy”. Community-driven, web-based. That’s awesome. I immediately signed their initiative.

Looking at the website I see they offer RSS, Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. That’s good. What is even better, is that these features are rather similar to those I incorporated in the mobile apps for Surgical Neurology International. Which means it should be fairly straightforward to offer my help by creating an iPhone and Android app for them. For free, because I want to support the initiative. Or, to speak in their terms, I want to nudge!

So I have been playing around with it for a couple of hours and currently have it working on my iPhone and Android device. That means, with exception of the mobile YouTube browser on Android that momentarily refuses to play the video – no problems on iPhone. With a rather different layout for both because of operating system features & limitations. I am glad to offer you a sneak preview on my blog, so here are some screenshots.

I will contact them to see if they are interested. And I invite you to sign the initiative (it’s in Dutch only). Let’s nudge!
